Test Results
Epsilon ASTM 3233 - 10W30
Direct Load -
|
Friction -
As the load is increased the force of friction increases as well. MC² shows much less friction as a force when compared to oil alone. MC² is 68.9 lbf compared to 10W30 oil at 216.7 lbf, a 68% improvement.
|
Specimen
When Friction is increase so is the temperature. The treated sample maintained a lower temperature than the baseline oil alone. Specimen Temperature is measured by a thermocouple on the back of the vee bars. MC² was 390⁰F compared to 649⁰F.
|
Fluid Temperature -
Fluid temperature is the temperature of the lubricant being tested. The sample treated with MC² was 183⁰F compared to 287⁰F for the oil alone. Again MC² outperformed the 10w30 oil.
|
Wear -
Wear is dramatically reduced with the treated sample. MC² shows only 0.0019 in. of wear to the pin. The 10W30 oil shows wear of 0.0030 in. MC² reduced the wear by 37%.
|
Torque -
With an increase in the direct load, not only friction and temperature increased, greater force is required to spin the pin at a constant rpm. The torque required for the MC² sample is only 34.4 lbf* in. compared to the 108.4 lbf* in. for the 10W30 oil, a reduction of 68%. Less energy is required to spin the pin treated with MC² than the 10W30 oil. This means MC² can help lower your fuel costs. MC² users have reported as much as 16% increases in fuel mileage.

Conditions All Moving Metal Parts
MC² is an anti-friction metal conditioner. It is a synthetic additive designed to be used with any lubricant. By utilizing nanotechnology, MC² bonds to metal filling the microscopic imperfections in the surface. MC² lowers the coefficient of friction, lowers operating temperatures, and increases surface hardness. This means engines run cooler, longer, and more efficiently. MC² isn't for engines only. It can be used in transmissions, differentials, power steering, and hydraulics. Can be added to diesel fuel for off-road use. |
The Epsilon Linear Precision Test Machine
The Epsilon Linear Precision Test Machine evaluates friction, wear, and extreme pressure properties of lubricants and greases. It has the ability to evaluate the rate of wear throughout the test duration and compare wear in real time to all other indicated variables such as torque, friction, coefficient of friction, load, specimen temperature, and fluid temperature. The Epsilon has a digital micrometer to measure wear accurately to .0001 in. The controller and data acquisition is handled by a computer. Test ASTM D3233 was performed by an independent third party on the Epsilon comparing a sample treated with MC² to a sample lubricated by oil alone. In this test, a metal pin is spun against four vee bars. The vee bars are gradually forced together. The load is increased over the course of the test, and the results are listed below. |

Humidity Cabinet Test
An independent third party testing facility tested the rust prevention ability of MC² in a simulated environment in their humidity cabinet. In this test two steel plates are coated and kept in the cabinet at 120⁰F and 100% humidity for two weeks. The standard 10W30 oil showed a 10% tendency to rust metal parts after two weeks in the humidity cabinet. MC² showed no tendency to rust at the completion of the test.
Oil is made up of aliphatic carbon chains. On these chains, there are random double bond carbon atoms. At the position of the double bond, water molecules can be attached. Loosely held water will cause oxidation of steel parts. MC² is able to help deactivate the water molecules by being blended with the oil and producing tightly bound hydrophilic compounds to result in steel parts free of rusting tendencies.
These tests were performed by an independent third party.
These laboratory results are intended to be helpful and informative. They are based on current industry testing procedures.x

Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test - ASTM 2272
ASTM 3233 is used to determine a lubricant’s resistance to oxidation and sludge formation using accelerated test conditions that involve high temperature, high pressure, oxygen, the presence of water, and active metal catalysts. MC² passed this test, causing no significant difference to base oil.
Surface Hardness Test - ASTM E 384-10
The ASTM E 384-10 test was again performed by a separate independent third party testing facility. This test shows that MC² increases surface hardness of metal on the Rockwell “B” Scale.
